Interested in culture, religion or gender studies? Courses at our department are mostly taught in Swedish and can be followed if you have a good command of Swedish, Danish or Norwegian. But we also have a few courses in English.

Research at our Department

Our research focus on highly various topics situated in different contexts in time and space. The three disciplines share a commitment to make the cultural and social world intelligible by means of fieldwork and studies of all kinds of textual sources.

New course for PhD-students: Strategies of Representation

The course will look at different methods of doing fieldwork and presenting ethnographic data. In particular, it will deal with how ethnographic data can be represented through various media. Teacher is Tom DuBois, from the University of Wisconsin. The course is open for all PhD-students.
