Sweden - Society and Everyday Life
The aim of the course is to provide an introduction to an ethnological analysis and understanding of Swedish society, past and present. The course deals with aspects of cultural and historical change from peasant society through modernity to contemporary society.

By focusing on conditions of “leaving”, “arrival”, and “living”, in regards to class, gender, race, religion, and generation this course aims to shed light on interrelated concepts that are relevant to understand an increasingly globalized world and contemporary diverse societies.

The course provides knowledge about how environments and remnants of 20th century Sweden and Europe today are re-interpreted and used for new purposes.
